Completed: photo session, web graphics, logo design, PDF menu design, creative writing, translation, web research and references, google map,
, etc., for "the best sushi bar in Stockholm." The critically acclaimed Sushi Devil is modest in size and seating capacity, yet boasts some of the best traditional and nouveaux sushi, made by creative chefs with the hands of surgeon and sculptors—sushi is food art and the devil is in the details. MORE TO COME: Sushi Devil has now annexed the premises at the corner of Strindhberg Huset. A new menu and design concept is in the works. Naturally, a web site is to follow.

Created in 2009; a work in progress...
Ronnie wanted dark colors but a serious look. As one of the highest profile guitarists in Israel, he wanted to project reliability and class, yet a rock attitude. He also wanted the pages to open in Mac Safari browsers—which although its creators claim is up to w3c standards, only partially works with standards and thus creates rendering problems. I worked with available graphics and came up with the banner; used javascripts, etc. to create the left menu; come up with a robust inter-platform template for the all the pages of the site... Ronnie got busy with tours, etc and will update the site with content—there is more to come with graphics, streaming video presentations, downloads, etc. Stay tuned....

For this assignment, I was asked to create a serious site with blue & yellow Swedish colors. Virtually all the content on the site is the result of my initiative and creativity: the logo, creative writing, market & competitor research, product localization, brand imaging, selected audience targeting, web graphics, architecture, automated fade-in-fade-out slide shows, Google-map integration, delegation of translation work, etc. UPDATE: The site now displays incorrectly in IE8 -- fix coming soon; for now, please use backward compatibility settings.

For this site I was asked to create an artistic-yet-serious look'n'feel with a light background. I came up with the site architecture, self-updating and customized content-management systems (admin only), scripted automated calendar functions, a filmstrip slide gallery, a unique and exclusive guest book, the front page and banner art work, all the web graphics. In addition I used brand imaging techniques, SEO (all targeted key words and images now rank at the very top of google!), edited the content for focus and consistency, optimized media streaming...

These was my own blog site. I designed my own CMS (content-management system) which allowed me to log in at Internet cafés from anywhere in the world and dump travelogues onto the Internet on-the-fly, as I traveled. No page on the Internet is ever 100% secure, but the pages on this particular site demonstrate pretty-darn hack-proof pages for the paranoid. They prevent the theft of code, prevent downloads, offer very little chance of infringements on intellectual property rights or the proliferation of images or personal information by unscrupulous third parties such as Spock.com. The flip side to making "totally" secure pages is that search engines will never be ale to read and catalog your content either.

stampen.se (demo)
Created in 2003; this version now offline
I was commissioned to create a new site in harmony with print media produced for Jazz Club Stampen's 35th anniversary celebrations. My idea was stay away from the corporate feel and cut down on the boxy page-like arrangements so prevalent on the WWW at the time. I
used custom databases and perl scripting for the "what's on" program section, automated regional pages for international users, custom map graphics, custom slide scripts, and a custom-designed "intelligent" self-learning-self-defense spam & hack-proof guest book, etc. One of the main goals was to make the website and the club attractive to international visitors, which seems to have been accomplished—Stampen and stampen.se is now listed on most tourist brochures and guidebooks around the world.

Another B2B (business-to-business) site, City Guest Service catered exclusively to visitors and expatriates...
City Guest Service has since evolved into something bigger and better, but this early 2-dimensional presentation reflects the early initiatives of the company's founder and the direction it would take...
mooncake.se (demo)
Created in 2003; offline
Mooncake, an exclusive restaurant patronized by royalty and celebrities, featured a unique trans-Asiatic fusion menu and 5-star service.
Since the target audience was regular customers, I played on familiar elements crucial to the ambiance of the establishment: the large b&w blown-up photo of 70's Saigon, the neon crescent, the Chinese calligraphy and poetry lining the menu, the introduction to a special selection of wines by a renowned expert... I was asked to use a menu paradigm to emulate the much-admired printed menu—an exquisite work of art in itself. I created a databasing system for the display of available wines from the cellar, as well as an online-reservation system which delivered faxes to the Maitre'd
daily.

This is a simple B2B (business-to-business) site, intended solely as a presentation to potential business partners and not the public at large. For this assignment I worked with the dictates of Art Directors and had almost no creative input apart from some editing of English-version documents, and the mouseOver animated triangles which are a play on the Linkon logo. For this site I also created secure Perl scripts for mail forwarding (not available for demo).
